Supplier selection represents a critical yet often under-structured managerial activity in multichannel retailing, where coordination between product sourcing, logistics, and customer-facing operations is particularly demanding. In emerging market contexts, supplier-related decisions are frequently shaped by experiential judgment rather than standardized evaluation frameworks, exposing firms to operational inefficiencies and supply risks. This study explores supplier selection practices within a Vietnamese home shopping enterprise operating across television and online channels. Drawing on a qualitative single-case study design, the research is based on internal documents, direct operational observation, and qualitative inputs from relevant functional units collected between 2022 and 2025. The findings suggest that supplier selection is constrained by three interrelated process-level limitations: inconsistent evaluation criteria across departments, limited integration between qualitative screening and quantitative price assessment, and the absence of systematic mechanisms for monitoring supplier performance over time. These constraints collectively reduce transparency and weaken the firm’s ability to manage suppliers strategically. By providing context-sensitive qualitative evidence, the study contributes to the supplier selection literature and offers practical insights for multichannel retailers in emerging markets seeking to strengthen supply chain governance through process standardization.

Less-than-container-load (LCL/LCL) sea freight forwarding plays an essential role in international logistics, particularly for shippers with small and medium shipment volumes. Despite its operational importance, the LCL/LCL import process is often characterized by procedural complexity, intensive documentation requirements, and a high degree of coordination among multiple actors. In emerging market contexts, these challenges are further intensified by fragmented procedures and reliance on manual processing. This study examines the import LCL/LCL sea freight forwarding process at Tiep Van Thuc Company, a Vietnamese logistics enterprise. Adopting a qualitative single-case study design, the research draws on internal operational documents, direct observation, and practical insights collected during the period 2022–2024. The findings indicate that the forwarding process is constrained by several interrelated limitations, including prolonged processing time, heavy dependence on manual documentation, and coordination difficulties across sequential operational stages. By providing context-specific qualitative evidence, the study contributes to the logistics process improvement literature and offers practical insights for logistics enterprises in emerging markets seeking to enhance the efficiency and reliability of LCL/LCL import operations through process standardization.

A Comparative Study Between North Bengal and South Bengal: A Comparison of Natural and Ecological Resources in West Bengal, India

This study examined the influence of the Organisation of Oil Exporting Countries (OPEC) on world oil price. Data on world oil price, OPEC oil supply, world oil demand and world inflation were sourced from various publications of OPEC, and analysed using the Augmented Dickey-Fuller (ADF) unit root test, Autoregressive Distributed Lag (ARDL) Bounds test, Breusch Godfrey Serial Correlation LM Test, and variance inflation factor (VIF) test for multicollinearity. The result of the ADF unit root test showed that OPEC oil supply was stationary at level, while world oil price, world oil demand and world inflation were stationary at first difference. The result of the ARDL bounds test confirmed that the variables are related in the long run given that the ARDL F-statistic value of 5.261561 is greater than the upper critical bound value of 3.67. Further findings revealed that a unit increase in oil supply by OPEC led to a 0.412751 unit increase in world oil price, while a unit increase in world oil demand resulted in a 2.813161 unit increase in world oil price. A unit increase in world inflation caused world oil price to increase by 0.345 unit. Based on the respective probability values which are less than the 0.05 level of significance, the study concludes that OPEC oil supply, world oil demand and world inflation, all impacted significantly on world oil price. This study recommends among others that, nations must continue to source for sustainable and dependable alternatives to crude oil.
